PANJIM: Dhempe College, Mira Mar will cross swords against Don Bosco College, Panjim in the A C Fernandes Memorial Trophy, an all Goa inter-college football tournament organised by HeraldGroup in association with GOA, at Santa Cruz ground, on Saturday, at 4 p.m.
Dhempe College is having a formidable line up with key players Dayesh Vengurlekar, Rinson Perriera and Royston Fernandes. The team is known for its consistency over the years and have reached the top four of Goa University football tournament for three consecutive times, out of which they ended the runners-up two years back.
The team has shown a great character in defence to down some top colleges in the recently concluded Goa University football tournament. Their strength lies in the determination and hard work to prove that they can emerge more than second-best. They have been preparing really hard to form a strong unit and want to impress every one with their performance.
For Don Bosco College, which is considered to be one of the toughest colleges in terms of fitness, Amey Barad, Joao Paulo and Leonardo will lead the challenge.
They were the runners-up last year in the Goa University football tournament. The team’s mantra is to work hard and give their best. Last year, they missed out to be crowned champions and with this year’s quarter-final exit, Don Bosco College will go all out to prove their mantle.
