RAIA: Dicarpale SC edged past Curtorim Gymkhana 5-4 via tie-breaker to move into the finals of the Our Lady of Fatima Cup inter-village football tournament played at Dicarpale SC ground, on Tuesday.
Both teams dished out a brand of football in front of above 600 spectators. Agnelo Colaco of Dicarpale SC was the star of the match with his dribbling and shooting power while for Curtorim Gymkhana Marcus Piexito gave his best to the team.
Agnelo Colaco of Dicarpale SC opened the scoreline in the 17th minute. Then Marcus Piexito of Curtorim Gymkhana’s header hit the Dicarpale SC cross bar and went out of play.
As the match progressed in the second half, Joy Hilario of Curtorim Gymkhana equalised in the 37th minute.
At the end of regulation time, both the teams settled for a 1-1 draw. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Dicarpale SC netted through Velington Rocha, Adarsh Raj, Jordan Miranda and Ajat Rai while for Curtorim Gymkhana Joel Martins, Joy Hilario and Marcus Fernandes were on target.
