FATORDA: Dicarpale Sports Club defeated Cuncolim Union 3-1 via the tie-breaker to enter the final of the Bro Eulalio Vas Memorial football tournament, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, on Thursday.
Cuncolim Union’s Trijoy Dias was in thick of action dominating the game while for Dircarpale SC, Clifton Rebello created chances for his teammates.
Dicarpale SC missed to score through Clifton and Agnelo Colaco in the early minutes of the game.
Cuncolim Union also had their chances but Trijoy Dias and Daulat Dessai couldn’t put the ball at the back of the net.
Dicarpale’s Clifton Rebello’s long shot hit the crossbar and went out of play.
At the other end, Dicarpale’s William Niasso intercepted a goal-bound move initiated by Cuncolim’s Trijoy Dias. The teams couldn’t score in the first session.
In the second half, Cuncolim started brightly and almost scored through Trijoy, however, the lad was unlucky as this time, it was the Dicarpale keeper Avin Vales, who came with a brilliant save the keep the scores even.
At the other end, Dicarpale’s Ryan Furtado also tested Cuncolim keeper Jeston Fernandes. Despite plenty of actions, there was no score at the break.
In the tie-breaker, Dicarpale SC netted through Agnelo Colaco, Stendly Miranda and Wiliam Niasso. Only Jerico Dias scored for Cuncolim.
Dicarpale SC will meet the winners of Chandor Club and Sao Jose de Areal in the final.
