AMBELIM: Dicarpale Sports Club defeated Chandor Club 3-2 in the GFA Third Division play-off (Salcete) match, played at Ambelim ground, on Wednesday.
Both teams started the match on an attacking note. Chandor Club had the first chance in the second minute when Richard D’Sa’s solo effort almost gave his side the lead but the lad’s shot missed the target by whiskers.
In the 4th minute, Chandor keeper John Dias pulled off a stunning save deny Dicarpale Mario Vales.
Chandor striker Hassan Kalhigar’s move was foiled by Dicarpale defender Reeve D’Costa in the 8th minute.
Chandor Louis Noronha’s long range shot was blocked by rival defender in the tenth minute
Dicarpale Standly D’Costa connected the ball to Mario Vales who passed to Reeve D’Costa but latter shot wide in the 16th minute.
Chandor Club’s Louis Noronha opened the scoring in the 14th minute.
Within the next fourteen minutes, Louis Noronha doubled the account for Chandor with a simple tap in off Richard D’Sa assist.
Elroy Moniz pulled one back for Dicarpale SC from the spot kick in the 42nd minute.
Crossing ends, Chandor dominated the play but they failed to convert their chances.
Chandor SC Louis Noronha should have almost scored but Mario Vales of Dicarpale made a goal line save in the 60th minute.
In the final quarter, Dicarpale pressed hard in search of the equaliser and finally managed to level terms.
As the match progressed Reeve D’Costa scored a brace for Dicarpale SC in the 79th and 90+1 minute.
