MARGAO: Dicarpale Sports Club rallied from behind to defeat Macasana Welfare Centre 3-1 in Group D Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League, at DYSA ground, Curtorim. The teams were tied 1-1 at full time.
Both the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer. As a result both the teams called the shots against the rival citadel. Macasna went into the lead in the 10th minute through Joeliston D’Souza.
However, their joy was short-lived in the 22nd minute when striker Lesly Carvalho neutralized the lead with a snap shot.
Post resumption, Dicarpale showed urgency and called the shots against the rival citadel. Abhay Shetty made it 2-1 in favour of Dicarpale in the 52nd minute and Brian Niasso sealed the rival fate in the 69th minute.
In Group F, Raitura Sports Club gained a walkover as Shiroda Youth Club failed to report.
In Group C, Dramapur Sports Club played truant against Enfermos Sports Club as the former failed to turn up.
In Group A, Chandor Club came from behind to hold Immaculate Conception Sports Club, Paroda in a 1-1 draw. Godfrey Fernandes put his team in front in the opening session while Sevraj D’Costa cancelled the lead in the second half.
