They held the upper hand especially in the opening session and enjoyed the lion’s share of exchanges. At the other hand, Panchwadi United Sports Club were subdued and looked disjointed as they hardly troubled the rival goalkeeper.
Dicarpale rocked the rival citadel in the very 4th minute when Brian Furtado’s power-packed shot crashed into the net.
The early goal boosted the morale of Dicarpale lads as they mounted tremendous pressure on the rival defence. They doubled the lead in the 28th minute when striker Micky Furtado slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
Post resumption, Dicarpale slackened their pace and allowed their opponents to launch barrage of attacks and in the 48th minute Clerent D’Souza scored the consolation goal.
After reducing the margin, Panchwadi United went all out in search of equalizer but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
