“GVM Institutions have always been on fore front in promoting the game of chess in Goa. I would like to thank the GVM chairman for supporting and helping GCA promote chess in Goa,” stated AICF Treasurer Kishor Bandekar.
IIFLW International tournament was the brain child of Praful Zaveri. Zaveri has been working tirelessly for the cause of chess in India. He is a Mumbai based professional coach, has authored couple of books on chess, and is a FIDE Instructor and arbiter.
“This is one of a kind initiative taken by the GVMs institute and GCA to help and nurture the aspiring coaches and chess lovers to know and learn the technique of teaching the multi-dimensional game,” explained Praful.
The course is based on proper syllabus structure and will help teachers give proper chess education to their students.
“At the moment ‘student-teacher’ ratio is quite high and such courses will help bridge this gap, generate more coaches and develop qualified and knowledgeable coaches in Goa to help the children learn the sport even better,” Praful added.
