PANJIM: DM’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated PCCE, Verna, 2-0, in the first pre-quarters inter-collegiate football championship men played at Goa University ground, Taleigao plateau, on Wednesday.
Both the goals came from Vismay Dawre in the 15th and 30th minute of the match.
In a second pre-quarter, CES College, Cuncolim crushed Swami Vivekananda College, Borim, 7-0. In the first half, hatrick of goals was registered by Pranoy Gaonkar. In the second half, CES College, Cuncolim continued their dominance and netted another four goals. Two goals were scored by Sandeep Chaudhary and one each by Pranay Velip.
At Rosary College ground, Sridora Caculo College, Mapusa had a comfortable victory over Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, 5-0.
In the first half, Sridora Caculo College scored two goals which were scored by Narendra Naik and Saideep Pomburphekar while two goals came from the boots of Aman Govekar and one from Narendra Naik in the second half.
In the fourth match, Govt College, Sanquelim defeated Govt College, Pernem. Vihal Das scored in the 68th minute.
In the women section, the first match was played at Rosary College ground, where Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi defeated Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, 4-0. All four goals were scored by Tirtha Kunkalienkar.
