PANJIM: DM’s College Assagao defeated Dempo College, Cujira to clinch the Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship for Women organised by Goa University, at University ground, Taleigao Plateau, recently.
Dempo College won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 88 runs in 19.4 over.
Captain Leena Gaunso scored 23 runs and was the lone batswoman to reache double figures.
Sugandha Ghadi picked 4 wickets while Rakshanda Pilankar took 2 wickets.
DM’s College raced to victory in 12 overs losing only one wicket with Sugandha Ghadi (30) not out and Shreya Parab (40) not out on the crease.
Sugandha Ghadi was declared woman-of-the-championship while Shreya Parab was awarded woman-of-the-match.
Sukanya Narvekar of Dempo College was awarded best bowler of the tournament.
