MAPUSA: Dnyanprassak Vidyalaya, Mapusa defeated Little Flower of Jesus High School, Calangute 5-0 in the inaugural match of the Bardez Taluka U-14 Inter-School Football Tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, held at Assanora Sports Complex ground, Assonora, on Monday.
Soham A (2) Swayam N, Vipul N and Parthiv N scored a goal each for Mapusa school.
In the second match, St Ann’s HS Tivim got the better of St Xaviers High School, Moira by 2-1 via tie-breaker.
Karan T and Vishal R scored for Thivim school while Yuvraj scored the only goal for the Moira School.
Earlier in the day, LD Samant Memorial HS, Porvorim and Shri Vasant Vidyalaya Siolim got walk overs as their opponent schools Ardee School, Sangolda and Mater Dei Institute, Saligao withdrew their entries prior to the the tournament.
