Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda defeated Navelim Villagers 1-0 to enter the finals of 13th Holy Cross soccer tournament organised by Holy Cross Sports Club at Vodlemoll ground, Kakoda on Wednesday.
Navelim started off well with good attacking football and looked to be a better side with good ball possession. As the game progressed, Don Bosco started dominating with Cliff Baretto scoring a superb goal. Soon after the goal Navelim did a counter-attack but their efforts were put down by the Fatorda goalkeeper. At lemon break the score board read 1-0.
The second half began with Navelim trying their best to equalize. They made their intentions clear but the Don Bosco defenders did not allow them to get to the target.
The following players were reprimanded for their unsporting behaviour Valent Silva, Micheal Faleiro, Soccoro Azavedo of Don Bosco and Joseph Dias of Navelim.
