MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda thumped Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao 4-1 to enter the semi-finals of the 18th All-Goa Our Lady of Merces football tournament organized by Sirlim Sports Club, at Chinchinim church, ground, on Monday. In the first half, Don Bosco Oratory were leading 2-1.
Don Bosco Oratory established supremacy from the start and surged ahead in the very third minute through Cliff Barretto’s powerful grounder which took a deflection off Taleigao’s Joylin Viegas.
Taleigao tried to regroup immediately but Ramesh Palkar’s promising move was foiled by the defence of Don Bosco.
Don Bosco secured their second goal in the 15th minute as Christopher Borges’ floater sailed into the rival nylons after an initial cross by Hasten Furtado.
Down by two goals, Taleigao reduced the margin before the lemon break as Vikram Balekar guided his free-kick perfectly to make it 2-1.
Crossing over, Don Bosco continued their dominance and scored their third goal in the 46th minute as Minguel Barretto finished with a deft placement off an assist by Savio Quadros.
Subsequently, Minguel made it 4-1 with a powerful grounder.
