In boys match, Pope John shunted out Our Lady Mother of Poor High School, Tilamol 3-0 to claim the championship in Quepem Taluka.
After starting the game on attacking note, Pope John took a lead through Maximo D’Costa. Tilamol school tried hard to equalize but to their bad luck after changing ends, Rezlon Nogueiro and Jolton Rodrigues increased the tally for Pope John.
The girls team of Pope John HS defeated Guardian Angel HS, Curchorem 1-0. There was no score at half time but after changing ends Joizima Fernandes’ solitary goal was helped Pope John to win the Taluka title.
