MAPUSA (HSR) –Dunes Sports Club qualified for the play-offs after holding BAFF to a 1-1 draw in GFA’s U-14 League at Bicholim ground on Friday.
After the interval, Dikshay Sarap opened the scoring for BAFF, but the lead was shortlived as Shritikesh punted home the equaliser for Dunes.
Dunes qualified in the first place with nine points from six matches, Goa United took the second place as they qualified on a goal difference with eight, St Christopher finished third with eight and BAFF finished last on six.
In GFA’s U-16 League, Brasil Futebol Academia scored three goals in the first seven minutes to defeat Dempo Sports Club juniors 3-1 at Agasaim ground. Brasil led 3-0 at the interval.
Binatone Singh shot from the left flank in the very first minute to give Brasil the lead. Four minutes later, Mahindra chipped past the rival keeper to double the lead.
In the 7th minute, Sahil Tavora netted the third.
Sahil’s afternoon was cut short after he limped off the field with an ankle injury at the end of the first half to Brasil’s dismay.
Sanford Rodrigues scored a consolation goal for Dempo after the lemon break.
