MAPUSA: Anslem D’Souza scored his sixth goal in three matches as Dunes Sports Club overcame Holiday Sports Club, Arpora 3-0 in GFA’s U-14 league at Tembi ground, Anjuna, Thursday. Dunes led 1-0 at the break.
In the 20th minute, Lionel D’Souza crossed from the left side and Anslem controlled, before placing in. Just before the break Lionel struck a mesmerizing shot which bounced off both posts before being cleared away to safety.
Changing over, Lionel took a similar shot from 30 yards and this time he made no mistake as his precision was awarded with the desired outcome.
In the final minute, Aniket Chopdekar ran through the Arpora defence to net his fourth goal in three matches.
At Don Bosco ground, Sporting Clube de Goa drubbed Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim 7-0. Jonathan Cardoso and Glevito Miranda bagged a brace each, while Dwayne Britto, Ronald Dias and Milton Gomes scored the others. The Sporting team was virtually made up of Don Bosco students.
At Cansaulim ground, Schubert Pereira scored a brace as Cortalim Gymkhana overcame Baina Sports Club 4-1. Dylan Gama and Mckensie Figueredo were also on target, while Josley Xaiver punted in a consolation goal for Baina.
