OLD GOA: Dwayne Neto’s individual brilliance helped Dempo Sports Club register a resounding 7-0 win over SAI Training in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Thursday.
The striker registered a fine hat-trick netting four goals and also assisting two for his teammate in an one-sided affair. The floodgates opened in the 7th minute when a Sherwin Abranches cross was guided in by Dwayne Neto.
In the 10th minute, Dwayne scored his second but this time the striker showed his class when he ran down the left flank and dribbled past couple of rival defenders to score team’s second goal. High on confidence, Dempo SC dominated their opponents and soon found themselves 3-0 up when Dwayne scored his third completing his hat-trick.
The striker then turned provider when he assisted Shreyash Naik as the winners led 4-0 at the break. After the break in the 51st minute, Dywane Neto set up Shreyash Naik for his second of the evening. Dempo SC were clearly the better side as the youngsters displayed skills and endurance as they ran riot. The final goal was scored by Vieri Colaco to make it 7-0 in favour of the Dempo SC.
