PORVORIM: DY Patil defeated Goa Lions by five wickets to clinch the Goa Corporate League title organised by Goa Cricket Association, at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Sunday.
DY Patil won the toss and elected to field.
Goa Lions were bundled out for 154 runs in their alotted 20 overs.
Amit Verma was the top scorer for the Lions as he scored 39 runs off 26 deliveries followed by Suyash Prabhudesai (33).
The DY Patil bowlers put up a decent performance as Baltej Singh scalped 4 wickets while Rishi Arothe and Iqbal Abdulla grabbed 2 wickets each.
In reply, DY Patil chased down the target with 7 balls to spare. Mandeep Singh remained unbeaten with 44 runs off 35 deliveries while Shashank Singh (39) also contributed to the chase.
The Goa Lions bowlers failed to restrict their opponents. Darshan Misal, Felix Alemao, Suyash Prabhudessai, Maliksab Sirur and Amit Verma grabbed a wicket each.
