PANJIM: Coastal/Security/CID/Traffic units/QRT (Eagle Commandos) beat 1st IRB 14-25, 26-24, 25-12, 23-25, 15-25 to emerge champions of 1st Goa Police inter-district/unit volleyball tournament at PHQ ground, here.
In all, eight teams including North District, South District, 1st IRBn Goa, 2nd IRBn Goa, GRP Altinho, Coastal/Security/CID/Traffic units/QRT (Eagle Commandos) PTS, DGP Reserve and PHQ/SPCR and other units participated.
Earlier, the teams were introduced to DGP, Kishan Kumar (IPS), Vijay Singh (IPS) and Vaman P Tari.
Kailash Ballikar of DGP Reserve was adjudged player-of-the-tournament. Arvind Shetye of Coastal/Security/CID/Traffic units/QRT (Eagle Commandos) PTS was awarded best lifter of the tournament trophy. Prashant Shetye of Coastal/Security/CID/Traffic units/QRT (Eagle Commandos) PTS was declared best smasher.
