East Bengal too good for JCT

KOLKATA, MARCH 9 East Bengal registered a win after losing points in five consecutive matches when they tamed JCT 3-0 in an I-League match at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, Wednesday.

East Bengal registered a win after losing points in five consecutive matches when they tamed JCT 3-0 in an I-League match at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, Wednesday. Man-of-the match Baljit Singh Saini scored a brace, while Ravinder Singh netted the other goal for the red-and-gold brigade.
East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan did not risk Tolgey Ozbey in the first eleven as he was not fully fit, while Robin Singh is currently in Myanmar.
East Bengal opened the scoreline in the 28th minute. From Sonju Pradhan’s long pass, former JCT player Baljit Singh Sahni showed good skill as he took the ball inside box, dribbled past the last defender and put the ball inside goal via left foot.
Baljit scored his and East Bengal’s 2nd goal in the 73rd minute. It was Penn Orji who made a terrific run down the right flank, got past Gurtej Singh and from his cross, Baljit just had to head the ball in.
Ravinder Singh made the scoreline 3-0 after three minutes. Ravinder got the ball at edge of the box. He made an inside dodge and took a right footed shot. The ball hit the crossbar and went in.
