MARGAO: Minerva Academy FC beat MSP Football Academy 3-0 in their AIFF U-15 Youth League, held at the Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
All three goals came in the second half with Arjun Sharma (48, 73) scoring a brace and Kartik Nayyar (66) being the other goalscorer.
Arjun Sharma opened the scoring in the 48th minute. He got on the scoresheet after Samson picked out Arjun in the middle as the forward struck a drive that thundered in after hitting the underside of the crossbar and went in.
Minerva’s Kartik Nayyar tried an ambitious shot from distance that was easily collected by the goalkeeper. Minerva scored their second as Kartik scored a blinder from around 25 yards out. In his second attempt from a distance, he beat the keeper in the 66th minute.
They scored their third when Samson and Arjun combined again as the winger picked out the striker with a cross in the box and he headed the ball into the net.
Minerva Academy were 3-0 up in the 73rd minute.
