Enfermos in semis

MARGAO, AUG 6
Enfermos Sports Club, Sinquetim-Navelim defeated Cana Benaulim Sporting Association  2-0 to storm into the semi-finals of Chinchinim-Deussua  Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by CRCC at church ground, Chinchinim on Friday.  Enfermos were leading 1-0 at the breather.
Enfermos had the better of exchanges in the first session and called the shots. They went  into the lead when veteran midfielder Domnic Cabral’s rasping drive was haphazardly collected the Benaulim goalkeeper and striker Sidney Colaco made no mistake in pouncing on the chance.
Crossing over, it was a different story as Cana Benaulim Sporting Association  showed better coordination and exerted pressure  on the rival citadel but Enfermos goalkeeper Jonathon Faleiro thwarted many attempts.
Enfermos doubled the lead when striker Sidney Afonso beat Benaulim goalkeeper all ends up.
Sidney Colaco who played a stellar role for his team was adjudged man-of-the match and received the award from chief guest,  Valuzino Baretto.
