It was a match between two nearby wards of Navelim village as both the team players knew each other well and hence the referee Merwyn Telles didn’t have much to say in both the sessions as the match went on smooth sailing.
Bryden Fernandes’ first touch on the ball for Sirvodem SC should have earned the first dividend in the second minute itself of a defence splinting pass by Bosco Lobo, however his goal bound shot got the deflection of Vitoo Fernandes of Enfermos SC and went for a corner kick.
Enformos SC too had a chance to score in the tenth minute through Wabern Fernandes but the later shot wide.
Thereafter, Vitto Fernandes’ half volley was saved by Sirvodem SC goalkeeper in the 20th minute.
Later, Enferrmos SC’ Vitoo tried a shot at the goal but his strike was denied by the cross piece of Sirvodem SC.
Delroy Fernandes of Sirvodem SC lost two chances in the 42nd and 44th minute.
The second session begun with upfront moves from both the sides but the defence lines of both teams faltered.
Sirvodem SC in the 89th minute suffered a defence lapse which cost them dearly as Edwin Fernandes for Enfermos SC netted the winning goal.
In another match, at Betalbatim ground, St Sebastian YC Murida, Fatorda defeated Cristo Rei YC 1-0.
Standly Dias scored the match winning goal for St Sebastian YC in the 70th minute.
