PANJIM: Goa’s Ethan Vaz clinched the largest possible medal haul – a total of six medals – including three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal, in the U-12 Open Category of the Asian Youth Chess Championships 2022 at Bali, Indonesia, on Saturday.
The Asian Youth Chess Championships consisted of three championships, viz. Rapid, Standard (Classical), and Blitz Chess Championship, and Ethan won double medals in each of the three championships.
Ethan won the individual gold medal as well as the team gold medal in the Standard Championship, the individual bronze medal and the team silver medal in the rapid Championship, and the Individual Gold Medal and the team silver medal in blitz championship.
