MAPUSA: Newly appointed Inspector General of Prisons, Bosco George-IPS and in charge of Sports, after his success in organizing the Goa Police Cup at Duler stadium recently which was largely attended saw him take a step ahead of building a window of communication between the Law enforcers and Law break ers by organizing an Exhibition Volleyball match at Colvale Jail premises which was attended by odd 700 inmates
A lot of enthusiasm was observed among the Jail inmates and the staff as both the teams displayed their skills on the Volleyball court.
Without saying Goa Police team were victorious as they had better expertise playing in the local tournaments.
But it was a beautiful beginning by the new IG of Prison where the energetic Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi was not only present but also displayed his skill and later distributed the trophies to the teams.
Speaking to Bosco George, the idea of having the Volleyball match said, he was inspired by the movie “Escape to Victory” where in a football match starring Sylvester Stallone, Michael Cain and the legendary Pele, the conclusion of the movie was a disaster for the prison staff as all the POW escaped.
