MARGAO: Our Lady of Fatima Sports Club A, Baida hammered Santa Cruz Club of Tolleaband 4-1 to cruise into the quarter-finals of Chinchinim Villagers football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, Monday. They led 2-0 at the breather.
Fatima took control right from the word go and never allowed their opponents to have a look at the goal. Salvador Rebello opened the floodgates in the fifth minute when Salvador Rebello bulged the net.
Sunny Simoes doubled the lead when he received a pass from Sandip Rebello. Salvador Rebello put the issue beyond doubt midway in the second half.
Sandeep Rebello made it 4-0 late in the second half.
Manfred Cardozo reduced the deficit at the fag end. Manfred was adjudged man-of-the-match.
