CHINCHINIM: Fatorda Veterans got the better of Assolda Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-final of the Chinchinim Pick-Up and Rickshaw Owners cum Drivers Association’s veterans football tournament, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday.
The teams started the match on equal footings, however both teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half. The second half was much not different as both teams strikers fumbled upfront when it mattered most.
There was no score in the regulation time. In the resultant tie-breaker, Fatorda Veterans proved to be better shooters.
On Tuesday, Danvodem Veterans Fatorda blanked Chinchinim Veterans 3-0.
Marcus opened the account for Danvodem in the 15th minute while Francisco scored two quick goals in the 17th and 19th minutes for Danvodem to make it 3-0.
