CHANDRAWADDO-FATORDA: Fatorda Veterans blanked Tiswadi Veterans 3-0 to move into the semi-final of the Fatorda Veterans football tournament, at DBO ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Fatorda striker Francis Andrade was the man-of-the-match with his dribbling, passing and shooting power through the match.
Francis Andrade and Mahesh Kamble of Fatorda were in thick of action for the first five minutes whereas for Tiswadi Anthony Rodrigues and Premnath Morje missed chances to score in the 7th and 10th minutes respectively.
A tricky move by Fatorda’s Jaison Cardozo to Niclay Borges was at once shot and netted to score the first goal of the match with an arrow bound shot in the 12th minute.
Two minutes later, Vincent Barbosa doubled the account for Fatorda off Francis Andrade’s assist.
Niclau Borges made it 3-0 for Fatorda in the 43rd minute
Post-resumption, Fatorda’s Francis Andrade connected a well measured ball to Shakil Ahmed but failed to convert in the 48th minute.
Tiswadi’s Ravi Pednekar’s shot was saved by Fatorda keeper Romeo Pereira.
Fatorda Veterans will now meet Varca Veterans in the semi-finals on March 19.
