NAVELIM: Fatorda Veterans defeated Santana Veterans 3-1 to move into the semi-finals of the Navelim Veterans football tournament, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Santana keeper Manoj Kesarkar denied Fatorda strikerJose Carvalho in the 3rd and 6th minutes.
Fatorda Khoja Pathan should have found the ball at the back of Fatorda nets but once again Manoj came to his side’s rescue with another brilliant save.
The first goal of the match came from the boots of Jerson Cardozo for Fatorda, who scored with a fine a snap shot off Agnelo Araujo’s connect in the 20th minute.
Abrao D’Mello of Santana missed the target by whiskers in the 23rd minute.
As the match progressed, Aldrin Lobo netted a brace for Fatorda in the 36th and 40th minutes. With just two minutes left for the final whistle, Seby Carvalho pulled a goal back for Santana.
