DULER: Football Club de Bardez registered a 3-1 win over Corps of Signals in the Goa Professional League match organised by Goa Football Association and played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday.
Clinton Niasso scored the brace in the first half, while Jessel Carneiro added the third in the dying minutes of the match for Bardez. Romans MS scored the only goal for the Army men.
Despite a dominant play by Signals in the starting stage of the match, it was Bardez who opened their account in 12th minutes when Jessel Carneiro’s long ball was brilliantly assisted to Clinton Niasso by Kirtikesh Gadekar who made no mistake to tap the ball home from close to take his side in an early lead.
However, it did not take long for the Army men to level the term as four minutes later, Signals defender Romans MS smartly headed in from blank-point range off Pawan Thakur’s well-taken corner to make it all square for his side.
At the other end, Bardez once again scored from the counter-attack when Shubham Rao Desai made a  darting run on the flank before curling it to Clinton in the box who banged it from close to make 2-1 for the Pink Brigade.
The second session was almost completely dominated by the Army men with continues attacks but poor finishing and aimless shot restricted them from finding the equaliser.
In the added time, Bardez scored their third goal of the match when Signal defender Amit Tariyal failed to clear Lalbabu’s long ball, taking advantage of the same, Bardez skipper Jessel moved inside the box and calmly finished the ball in the back of the nylons.
With this win, Bardez moved up to 4th place with 14 points from eight encounters, while Signals has 11 points from 10 matches.
