FC Bardez, Cavelossim play out drab draw; Corps of Signals down Vasco SC

NAVELIM: FC Bardez and SCC Cavelossim played a goalless draw in the GFA Professional League match held at the Navelim football ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams started brightly on an attacking note. Cavelossim’s Aaren D’Silva’s long range shot was easily saved by the rival keeper in the 4th minute. 
Though FC Bardez tried hard they didn’t have any real chance at the goal until the 39th minute, when Koko Sakibo’s strike was brilliantly blocked by Cavelossim keeper Agnelo Gomes.
At the other end, Cavelossim striker Joshuah Vaz gave an inch perfect pass to Mathew Colaco at the goal mouth but the later failed to guide his shot at the goal.
Just before the break, Koko Sakibo had the glorious chance to put his team ahead but the striker shot wide with only the keeper at his mercy.
There were no scores at the break.
Changing ends, FC Bardez were awarded a penalty in the 50th minute when Koko was brought down by Cresson Antao in the box and referee Clement Xavier made no hesitation pointing towards the spot.
Peter Carvalho stepped over to take the spot kick but his effort was brilliantly saved by the rival keeper.
Daulat Desai and Gammy Costa worked out a tricky set piece for Cavelossim in the 88th minute but Gammy shot missed by just two feet.
In another match at 3MTR ground Corps of signals defeated Vasco SC 2-0.
