FC Goa crowned GFA Boys U-15 1st Division champions

MAPUSA: FC Goa managed to hold South Goa United Club to a goalless draw in the GFA’s Boys U-15 1st Division League, held at Don Bosco, Fatorda.

The match began energetically, with the Young Gaurs dominating the early stages and missing several chances. A quality cross from Sam Pereira was headed by Brendon Fernandes, but South Goa United goalkeeper Rhys Baretto made a smart save. As the game progressed, Baretto continued to excel in goal.

The second half was more balanced, with the Young Gaurs unable to break through due to South Goa United’s collective defensive efforts. Lesvin’s header narrowly missed the target, coming inches close to scoring. Near the end, a well-timed cross from Jaden saw Casvino miss an opportunity that could have sealed the title for South Goa United. Cayden Rodrigues and Vernon Cardozo were solid in defense.

FC Goa coach Shane Anthony Temudo commented, “It has been a season with many challenges, and all credit goes to the boys. They have demonstrated determination, resilience, and dedication since day one.”

“This group holds a special place in my heart, as we’ve grown together more like a family. Throughout the season, everyone put in tremendous effort, knowing the pressure was on to retain the title. Our players, along with the dedicated team behind the scenes, worked tirelessly to make this achievement a reality,” he added.

“I’d like to dedicate this trophy to the grassroots coaches in Goa, especially those at FC Goa, Forca Goa Foundation, and the football schools. Their hard work has brought together this talented group of players, and I believe they have great potential to achieve big things in the near future,” he concluded.
