Storm into semi-finals; Aizawl FC thump Salgaocar FC

FATORDA: FC Goa downed SAI Guwahati 3-1 to enter in the semi-finals of the India Youth league Elite match organised by AIFF, at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Saturday. 
FC Goa led by a goal at the breather. 
Doyal Alves scored a brace while substitute Jovito Dias scored a goal for the Young Gaurs. 
The lone goal for SAI Guwahati was scored by Shano Tariang.
FC Goa started with fast pace and missed scoring chances in the first five minutes through Asfin Pinto and Joybert Ronald Almeida. 
 However, they took the lead in the 13th minute through Doyle Alves off  Romario Da Costa’s pass.
Doyle Alves had an opportunity to double the lead for FC Goa but his move was foiled by Guhawati defender Gopal Gorh. 
In the last fifteen minutes of the first session, Shano Tariang and Swmdwn Damary’s shots were saved by FC Goa keeper Manav Baraskar.
FC Goa dominated the second session of the match and missed scoring chances through Joybert Ronald Almeida, Doya Alves and Asfin Pinto. 
Doyal Alves doubled the lead for FC Goa in the 70th minute off a pass received from Joybert Almeida. 
SAI Guwahati were awarded a spot kick in the 87th minute which was converted by Shano Tariang. 
With just a minute left for the final whistle, substitute Jovito Dias made the issue more safe for FC Goa by scoring the third goal.
On Friday, Aizawl FC defeated Salgaocar FC 4-0 in the group D final third round match, played at Nagoa Verna ground.
R Lalthanmawia scored a brace while Sang Dingliana and Lal Chungnunga netted a goal each for the visitors.
