PANJIM: FC Goa have added Goa duo Nicolau Colaco and Keenan Almeida to their squad.
Keenan’s announcement was made on FC Goa’s social networking sites on Friday while Nicolau’s was unveiled in the same fashion on Thursday.
Nicolau became the first player to be picked up by an Indian Super League (ISL) club after the massively successful auction and draft that saw 50 players picking up a club while 72 remained unsold.
The 31-year-old turned out for Salgaocar FC in the I-League and has made 12 appearances for the Greens, who finished seventh out of the eleven teams in the fray.
The defender has represented Salgaocar since 2009, winning the I-League under Karim Bencherifa in 2011-12 as well as a Federation Cup.
The player who was priced at 23 lakhs in the domestic draft was not picked up by any team, but was signed by Zico in the additional four players quota, that a club can exercise after the draft.
Colaco and Sporting Clube de Goa’s Keenan join fellow Goans Victorino Fernandes, Romeo Fernandes, Mandar Rao Dessai and Joaquim Abranches in the squad.
