FC Goa ropes in Coach Mariano Dias

MARGAO: Former I-League winning head coach of Churchill Brothers Sports Club, Mariano Dias has been appointed as Youth Development Officer of Indian Super League (ISL) outfit FC Goa.

MARGAO: Former I-League winning head coach of Churchill Brothers Sports Club, Mariano Dias has been appointed as Youth Development Officer of Indian Super League (ISL) outfit FC Goa.
“I would like to thank the FC Goa management for offering me this opportunity. I am really excited to be part of this venture. We need to focus on the grassroots development and the franchise’s focus is to produce a strong team for the future,” said Dias. 
In view of the under-17 World Cup to be held in India in after two years, the tactician feels it’s the best way forward to nurture young talent.
“We have put success secondary and are concentrating on long term goals that is grassroots,” added the 2014 Federation Cup winner.
Having coached the State senior team, Salgaocar Football Club Youth Development  team and Sesa Football Academy, Dias’ knowledge will be very helpful.
