PANJIM: FC Mardol scored a fluent 3-1 win over Goa Velha Sports Club in the Goa Football Association U-20 Second Division League match played at Agassaim ground , on Thursday.
Goa Velha SC were first to break the deadlock early in the eight minute through Mashaka Kamatagi but FC Mardol, who struggled in the opening minutes, soon took control of the game and pressed their opponents in their own half. Goa Velha SC succumbed to the pressure as they conceded two goals in the span of one minute in the 17th and 18th minutes as Karan Kholkar scored a quick-fire brace. The play was restricted to midfield battle as Mardol played possession play while Goa Velha SC tried to score the equalising goal. FC Mardol led 2-1 at the breather.
Crossing over, Mardol scored their third in the third minute of the second session through Pandurang Gauns. Goa Velha SC’s Franky Cabral, Mashaka and Medhan Palha and FC Mardol’s Sachin Shirodkar received warning for rough play.
