PANJIM: FC Siolim defeated MFC, Majorda, 1-0 and lifted the All-Goa inter-village Ramadan Football Tournament Cup in Dubai, UAE, on Sunday.
Chatur Naik scored the match-winner.
In all, 17 teams participated in the tournament, wherein each team consisted of players from different Goan villages. The team managers fielded talented players from Goa who are looking to build their careers in Dubai by providing jobs for them and at the same time, giving them the opportunity to play competitive football.
The tournament is considered as one of the most prestigious events in the calendar that is organised and run by the team managers from the United UAE Goans.
The tournament brings together teams from different villages in Goa to compete against each other for the ultimate prize. This tournament has become an important part of the Goan community in Dubai, with many people coming out to watch the matches and support their favourite team.
