Felipe Neri re-elected CRCC chief

Water Resources Minister Felipe Neri Rodrigues was elected president of Clube Recreativo e Cultural de Chinchinim for the consecutive third term defeating Chalton Savio Furtado by 56 votes at the general election at the club premises, Chinchinim on Sunday. The score was 98-42 in favour of Neri.
It was a cakewalk for Felipe Neri at the meeting attended by 144 members.
Filipe Neri’s panel made a clean sweep wresting all the posts. Incidentally Chalton suffered another defeat losing the election to the post of executive member.
The election of vice-president Cyril Leitao was on the expected lines. He defeated Sanny D’Costa after polling 76 votes.
Esmeraldo Gomes beat Martins Franco Berne for the post of chairman of General Assembly. The score was 98-42 in favour of Gomes.
The other elected members: General secretary Constancio Fernandes (unopposed), assistant general secretary Benny D’Costa (unopposed). Treasurer Valentino Baretto (unopposed). Assistant secretary Agnelo Xavier.
Former India captain and coach of Dempo Sports Club, Mauricio Afonso polled the highest number of votes for the post of executive committee member (131), followed by former Dempo defender Felix Baretto (125), Inacio Cardozo (113), Seby Soares (107), Nevile Gomes (104), Anthelm Fernandes (100), Joseph Anthony Dias (89).
