MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem gave a superb display of attacking potential as they hammered Canacona Sports Academy 12- 0 in the Salcete Zone GFA Under 14 football tournament at SAG Ground, Assolna on Friday.
Guardian Angel Sports Club led 8-0 at half time.
The highlight of the day was a brilliant five goal blitz by striker Ashley D’Cosrta.
Guardian Angel Sports Club produced a clinical display and outplayed their opponents in all department of the game. Kimran Fernandes, Richard D’Sa and Joy Hilario rubbed salt to Canacona Sports Academy wounds by scoring a brace each. Sanford Fernandes was the other scorer for winners.
At Quepem Sports Complex, Sirlim Sports Club and Tilmola United played out a goalless draw. Both the teams displayed an attacking brand of soccer and kept the crowds on their toes. Sirlim Sports Club produced a clinical display and maintain the top positions with 22 points from 8 matches.
At Dramapur ground, Curtorim Gymkhana gained a walkover as their opponents United Boys of Palolem failed to turn up.
In another match A A De Majorda and Rossman Cruz played goalless draw.
In a Bardez Zone match, Vailankanni FSC, Morjim defeated Sporting C Porvorim 1-0.
