PONDA: FM Nitish Belurkar won the 8th Goa Online Chess League organised by Ponda Taluka Chess Association becoming the sole leader with 8.5 points out of 9.
Shekhar Sirsat was placed second scoring 7.5 points while Devesh Naik had to settle for third with 7 points.
After eight matches, Nitish is leading with 5 gold, 2 silver and 1 Bronze in the 12 match series, Goa Chess League organised under the aegis of Goa Chess Association by all the 12 Taluka Chess Associations. Ritviz Parab with 2 Gold and 2 Silver is on 2nd place while Vivaan Ballikar with 1 Gold is on 3rd place.
Gaurav Madkaikar, Ethan Vaz, Joy Kakodkar, Reuben Colaco, Ritviz Parab, Datta Kambli and Sairaj Vernekar were placed 4th to 10th place respectively.
Earlier in the 7th Goa Online Chess league organised by Canacona Chess Taluka Association, FM Nitish Belurkar had won the first place, Ritviz Parab came second while Devesh Naik had to settle for the third place.
The 9th Goa Online Chess League will be organised by Sattari Taluka Chess Association under the aegis of Goa Chess Association on October 11 at 6 p.m.
