CURTORIM: Fondegal beat Ralloi 5-4 via the tie-breaker and entered the quarter-finals of the Curtorim inter-ward 9-a-side football tournament, organised by Cumborda Sports Club of Curtorim and played at Curtorim ground on Tuesday.
It was Fondegal who took the lead at 4th minute when Fondegal striker Josley put the ball in the net from 18-yard box beating Ralloi goalkeeper Conny. At half time, Fondegal led 1-0.
Ralloi fought hard to find the equaliser and they succeeded to level terms in the 22 minute when Steven made no mistake to put the ball in the net of Fondegal. In the
30th minute, Tony made a solo run keeping Fondegal defenders behind and finished cleanly taking Ralloi ahead in the game, 2-1.
In the dying minutes of the game, Caetano equalised for Fondegal.
In the penalty shoot-out, Mario, Caetano, Eleeward, Myron and Josly scored for Fondegal. Steven, Lesly, Conny and Mario scored for Ralloi. Ralloi’s Steven was named the Man-of-the-Match.
