Football summer coaching camp held at Ponda

PANJIM: Joseph School of Football, Caranzalem, in association with Clube de Santa Ana conducted its first football summer coaching camp 2024 at the Frabica de Igreja ground, Ponda, recently. The aim of the camp was to encourage kids to learn to play football and to express their talent and skills. 

The duration of the camp was for 15 days with basic football activities, skills, shooting and other drill taught to them. Around 18 kids enrolled themselves. Atharv Desai assisted during the coaching camp with his expertise that he learned in his AIFF C-Licence certificate. 

On the final day, the Ponda team played against Joseph School of Football with a goalless draw. 

The Goa Football Association Executive Member Sanjeev Nagvakar was the chief guest on the final day. Sanjeev spoke about the importance of grassroots football across Goa in order to see budding footballers one day take centerstage and play for Indian Super League, I-League, GFA Pro League and other tournaments. 

In his address, guest of honour Clube de Santa Ana President Jonos Andrade spoke on how to balance sports and education, to achieve ones’ goals. Certificates, trophies and medals were given to the students, who completed the summer camp. Joseph proposed a vote of thanks.
