PANJIM: Jose Fernandes, a former player of Panvel, Vasco and Dempo passed away in London on Saturday.
He was 76. Jose, who was a diminutive striker and a native from Santa Cruz, was a star striker known for his dribbling skills and his uncanny ability to score.
Often he mesmerised the fans with his runs and was admired for the way he could take on three opponents at a time.
Following his retirement from the sport he migrated to the UK and resided in London.
