FATORDA: Sports Minister Manohar Azgaonkar, laid the foundation stone for upgradation of jogging track at Fatorda, on Friday.
“The National games in 2018 will enable us to bring about more development and better infrastructure in the State,” Manohar Azgoankar, the Minister of Sports and Tourism said on the occasion.
Minister for Town and Country Planning and Agriculture, Vijay Sardesai, MMC Chairperson Dr Babita Angle Prabhudesai and Executive director for SAG V.M.Prabhu Desai were also present.
“The up-gradation of Jogging track at Fatorda will be ready within two months, with 15mm track thickness. The estimated cost for the Walkers/joggers track will be Rs 97 lakhs”, disclosed V.M. Prabhudesai.
“The National games will be held in Goa from November 4, 2018 and the inauguration of these games will be held at PJN Stadium Fatorda and the officers had to work nearly 16 hours per day requested for co-operation” Prabhudesai added.
“This track will be for health/recreational activities and will benefit a lot of people which is of public interest”, disclosed Dr Babita Angle Prabhudesai.
Vijai Sardessai said, “An inspection was done of the track in March. The CSR /Work station will be set up here and body building equipment will be provided for the senior citizens shortly.”
