CURCHOREM: Former Union Law Minister Ramakant Khalap laid a foundation stone for the construction of Patkar Sports arena, at near the Cine Prashant Theater, Bebquegal Curchorem.
While addressing the gathering social worker and Congress Leader Amit Patkar said, “The sports arena will be a world class state of art sports facilities where the people of Curchorem constituency and surrounding areas can avail the benefits of sports infrastructure and get the opportunity to enhance their sports talent.”
“The project under my initiative vibrant Kudchadade would be completed within a year where six sports facilities like cricket nets, football, futsal, volleyball, basketball and jogging tracks will be available under one roof which will be largely benefited to the people particularly youngsters to make a career and show the sporting talents not only in our country but at the international level too,” Patkar added.
Opposition Leader Digamber Kamat who had addressed the gathering virtually from Delhi congratulated the Patkar family for constructing the sports arena with various sports facilities on their own prime land for the benefits of the locals.
“I congratulate and appreciate Amit and his family for taking the bold initiative to build the sports arena with his own finances without waiting for government funds for the benefits of the locals.” said Kamat.
The dignitaries Congress Goa Mahila President Beena Naik former Curchorem MLAs ,Domnic Fernandes and Shyam Satardekar, PCC Vice Presidents M.K. Shaikh, Sankalp Amonkar, Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar, Minority Cell Chairman Nazir Khan, Congress leaders Captain Varieto Fernandes, Alton D’Costa, Yuri Alemao and Curchorem Block President Pushkal Sawant were present among others.
