MAPUSA: Four Goan boxers namely Neha Chavan, Suman Yadav, Aashreya Naik and Jessica Karra fought their way into the quarter finals of the Junior Women National Championship at Rothak, Haryana.
All the boxers will play their quarter final matches on Wednesday.
The Goa Boxing Association (GBA) had sent six boxers from Goa for the Junior National Boxing Championship.
International medalist Aashreya Naik won her bout against Maharashtra with 5-0 decision and will face against Sneha Gupta from Jharkhand in the 63 kg weight category.
Jessica Karra proved to be too good for her opponent Krishna Nendhu of Kerala by winning RSC in the 1st round .
Underdog Neha Kadam won two bouts and will now play Haryana’s Tannu.
Suman Yadav too won her bout against Delhi’s KomalI with 5-0 decision and is now set to play against Maharashtra’s Sandhya.
