MARGAO: Fr Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Verna defeated Ramacrisna Madeva Salgaocar Higher Secondary School 3-2 in the Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 football tournament held at the astro turf ground, Fatorda on Thursday.
Fr Agnel High School Verna went ahead in the first quarter through Jason Vas after a lot of missed chances by either sides. Ramcrisna Madeva HSS soon equalized through Norman Mascarenhas who struck before half-time.
At half-time both the teams were tied at 1-1.
Post resumption, RMS side scored within a few minutes into the second-half through Hayden Jovi.
Trailing by a goal, Fr Agnel HSS staged a fight-back and through Perry shot into the lead.
Fr Agnel created a series of chances and eventually drove the final nail into the coffin through Ashley Borges.
In another match, Marina English HS Verna outwitted Our Lady of Carmel High School Curtorim by 4-0 margin. Aglon Abranches, Avison D’souza, Avino Pinto and Venzie Barbosa scored Marina English HS.
