Fr Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary, Verna trounced Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary, Borda 4-1 to cruise into the semi-finals of Zone III inter-school football tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Rosary ground, Navelim on Monday . Fr Agnel led 2-0 at half time.
Fr Agnel dominated the proceedings right from the word go and went ahead when Quellon Fernandes free-kick beat the rival goalkeeper hands down.
Savan Lotlikar doubled the lead after he received a pass from Steven Mendes.
The second session saw an improved performance from Fr Agnel.
Joshua Dias struck a second time to complete his brace. Kevin Costa managed to score the consolation goal for Govt. Multipurpose.
In another match, Deepvihar Higher Secondary,Vasco blanked GVM Ponda 2-0. Yogesh and Atmaram were the goal scorers for the winners.
