RAIA: Fr Agnel Multi Purpose High School, Verna, defeated two times Goa champions Dempo Higher Secondary School, Cujira, 4-0, on Monday, to book a ticket to Delhi for the 3rd edition of U-17 Subroto Mukerjee football league from September 2.
A brace by Elton Fernandes and goal each by Walton Fernandes and Captain Jayden Pinto helped Fr Agnel Multi Purpose High School secured the victory.
At half time, the score was 1-0 in favour of Fr Agnel Multi Purpose High School. In the district final, Fr Agnel Multi Purpose High School defeated Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi-Paroda, while VS Dempo Higher Secondary School, Cujira, outplayed St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, at the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs ground, Santa Cruz.
Match officials were Pravin Naik, Domnic Fernandes, Aaron Rodrigues and Purushottam Mapari. Chief guest founder and chairman of Youth Futsal Academy Succour Vaz presented the trophy and certificates to the teams in the presence of Fr Agnelo Gomes, Fr Issac Fernandes, Fr Vicky Hilario, Sanjay Shirodkar (ZSO), Anant Sawal (State sports organiser) and physical education teachers of Fr Agnel Multi Purpose High School Prabhakar Velip and Filbert Pereira.
