FATORDA: Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS, Verna and OL of Rosary High School, Fatorda booked their place in the final of the U-17 Salcete Taluka Subroto Mukherjee Boys football tournament organised by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Saturday.
In the first semi-final, Fr Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School defeated St Alex HSS of Curtorim 4-2 via the tie-breaker after the full session of the match was ended in goalless draw.
In the tie-breaker, Jonas Colaco, Cidroy De Souza, Cainne Moura and Johany Mesquita while only Ancel Tavares and Milton Gomindos shoot at the target for St Alex HSS.
In the second semi-final, OL of Rosary High School downed St Joseph’s HS of Aquem 4-1 via the tie-breaker. Both the teams were tied at goalless draw at the full session.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Jordon Borges, Rahul Sharma, Gaurav Bhandari and Breedan Barbosa while only Adman Gomes found the mark for St Joseph’s HS.
The final will be played on 29th July at the same venue.
Meanwhile in the Mormugao zone semi-final, at MPT ground, Our Lady of Perpetua Socorro HS, Cortalim got the better of Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim 4-2 to move into the final.
Our Lady of Perpetual Socorro HS netted through Glen, Krishna, Sharnappa and Chilton while Sydney and Manas scored for Regina Mundi HS.
In the second semi-final, St Andrew Higher Secondary, Vaddem pipped St Thomas High School, Cansaulim 1-0 to move into the final.
St. Andrew netted the match winner through Menino D’Souza.
The final will be played on July 30.
