MARGAO: Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School Verna, St Joseph Educational Institute Chandor, St Pius High School Orlim, Mount Mary High School Chinchinim and Mae dos Pobres High School Nuvem recorded victories in the Salcete Taluka under-14 inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Manora ground, Raia, on Monday.

Fr Agnel thumped St Thereza High School, Raia 4-0 with goals from Ashely Borges, Shane Estibeiro, John Fernandes and Anthony Gop.

St Joseph overcame Holy Spirit Institute, Margao 1-0. Jordan Fernandes struck the match-winner.

St Pius prevailed over Saviour of the World High School, Loutolim 3-1 via the tie-break.

Mount Mary beat Marina English High School ,Verna an identical margin.

Mae dos Pobres got the better of St Rita High School, Maina 4-3 via the tie-breaker.
